General Manager

Portsmouth, NH | $75,000–$80,000 + Quarterly Bonus

An established, upscale Portsmouth restaurant is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its daily operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience. Serving lunch and dinner seven days a week, this is an opportunity for a polished, hands-on hospitality professional who understands the elevated service standards and attention to detail expected in a finer-dining environment.

We’re looking for a leader who enjoys being present on the floor, developing a strong team, building relationships with guests, and creating a restaurant culture where both hospitality and operational excellence are priorities.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead, coach, and develop the front-of-house team while creating a positive and professional work environment.
• Maintain elevated standards of service, hospitality, cleanliness, and overall restaurant presentation.
• Be highly visible on the floor, engaging with guests and ensuring a memorable dining experience.
• Oversee daily restaurant operations, including scheduling, staffing, labor management, and service execution.
• Partner closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless communication between the front and back of the house.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships as needed.
• Hire, train, and retain a strong hospitality-focused team.
• Set clear expectations, hold the team accountable, and lead by example.
• Monitor restaurant performance and help drive sales, control costs, and achieve operational goals.

What You’ll Bring:

• Previous experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or comparable restaurant leader.
• Experience in upscale, fine-dining, or polished full-service restaurants.
• A stable work history with demonstrated commitment and career progression.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, labor management, cost controls, and team development.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
• Strong communication skills with a polished, professional presence.
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to be present wherever the operation needs you.
• Availability for lunch and dinner service, including weekends.
