Construction Superintendent – K-12 / Commercial Construction

Location: Copperas Cove, TX | On-Site

A well-established Texas commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to provide on-site leadership for major K-12 school construction, renovation, and addition projects in the Copperas Cove area.

This role is ideal for a hands-on field leader with strong commercial general contracting experience who can effectively manage subcontractors, schedules, safety, quality, and day-to-day jobsite operations. Experience with K-12, municipal, government, or other public-sector construction is highly preferred.

Construction Superintendent Responsibilities

  • Provide overall on-site leadership and supervision of commercial construction projects from mobilization through completion
  • Manage daily jobsite operations, subcontractors, field personnel, vendors, and construction activities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, look-ahead schedules, sequencing, and site logistics
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities to keep projects on schedule and minimize conflicts or delays
  • Partner closely with the Project Manager on project planning, scheduling, RFIs, change management, and overall execution
  • Conduct subcontractor meetings, site coordination meetings, and daily field communication
  • Monitor construction for compliance with plans, specifications, quality standards, and contract requirements
  • Maintain and enforce jobsite safety programs and OSHA requirements
  • Coordinate inspections and proactively identify and resolve field issues
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and field documentation
  • Manage punch-list activities, project closeout, and turnover
  • Build strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders
  • Lead and mentor Assistant Superintendents and other field personnel

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial construction Superintendent or field leadership experience
  • Strong experience working for a commercial general contractor (GC) preferred
  • K-12 school construction, education, municipal, government, or public-sector construction experience preferred
  • Experience overseeing renovations, additions, ground-up construction, or large capital improvement projects
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, plans and specifications, site logistics, and subcontractor management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety and quality-control practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to proactively identify field challenges and keep projects moving forward
  • Proficiency with construction management technology and project documentation
  • Valid driver's license
