Are you an experienced hospitality leader looking for a career where people, great food, and sustainability come together?
We are seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead a dynamic University foodservice operation in a higher education environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional with experience in higher education food service, full-service hotels, upscale restaurants, or multi-unit operations who thrives on developing people, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and driving operational excellence.
If you are a servant leader who believes great teams create great experiences—and you want to make a meaningful difference through sustainable food practices—we’d love to talk with you.
What You’ll Do
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operational, financial, and service success of the account while creating an environment where employees can grow and customers receive an exceptional experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall success of the foodservice operation while aligning with the client’s culture, expectations, and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, health department regulations, food safety requirements, and sanitation practices.
- Oversee daily administrative and operational activities, including financial management, reporting, analysis, and budgeting.
- Monitor operational performance and use financial data and key metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage and utilize technology platforms and computer systems, including STAFF and CPM.
- Deliver consistently high levels of customer service across all areas of the operation.
- Champion food quality, sustainability, and responsible food practices.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team through a servant leadership approach.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Address challenges and resolve problems quickly, professionally, and fairly.
- Partner closely with the Director of Operations and other leadership to achieve account goals.
- Create an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a proven hospitality leader who combines strong business acumen with a genuine passion for people.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training required; Hospitality, Culinary, or related degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a high-end hotel, restaurant, foodservice operation, or comparable hospitality environment.
- Experience managing multiple outlets and/or banquet facilities strongly preferred.
- Higher education foodservice, full-service hotel, or multi-unit management experience is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of hospitality operations, customer service, and team leadership.
- Genuine interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices.
- Ability to operate web-based ordering systems, process customer requests and order changes, manage menu updates, and maintain client profiles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, spreadsheets, and other business applications.
- Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to understand and manage operational performance.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- A servant leadership mindset with a genuine commitment to the growth and well-being of employees in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Why You’ll Love This Opportunity
This is more than a General Manager position. It’s an opportunity to lead people, influence culture, elevate the guest experience, and contribute to a more sustainable approach to foodservice.
You’ll join an organization that invests in its people and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
