Position Summary:

Seeking a reliable, experienced, and nurturing Opener – Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position is responsible for opening the center each day, preparing classrooms for learning, and leading a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Open the center daily and ensure classrooms are prepared, clean, and safe for children’s arrival
• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with state guidelines
• Supervise and manage classroom activities while maintaining a structured and nurturing environment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment at all times
• Monitor children’s behavior and development, addressing individual needs appropriately

Required Qualifications:

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (required)
• Active OCCRRA (Ohio Child Care Resource & Referral Association) account in good standing
• High School Diploma or GED required (Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting (lead teacher experience preferred)
• Knowledge of Ohio childcare licensing rules and Step Up To Quality standards

• Strong leadership and classroom management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, punctual, and able to consistently open the center on time
• Passion for working with children and supporting their development
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening in accordance with state regulations
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Completion of required OCCRRA trainings and ongoing professional development
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, stand, and actively engage with children throughout the day

Work Schedule:

• Early morning shift (Opener position; exact hours to be discussed)
• Full-time or part-time availability
