  • Work closely with production and process teams to reduce downtime, flash, dimensional issues, and tool-related defects
  • Help establish tracking of tool life, performance, and maintenance history
  • Support new tooling programs and vendor coordination
  • Contribute to improved tooling documentation and database accuracy
  • Provide technical leadership to toolroom staff and dotted-line maintenance resources

Required Background

  • Experience with plastic injection molding and/or rubber compression molding tools
  • Strong knowledge of mold construction, repair, and maintenance practices
  • Experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing
  • Understanding of mold PM programs, tool wear, and process-to-tool interaction
  • Familiarity with tooling design software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience improving mold performance and reducing reactive repair cycles

Preferred

  • Experience with molding simulation or flow analysis software
  • Background in establishing mold maintenance systems from a reactive starting point
  • Leadership potential and desire to grow into a tooling management role

What Success Looks Like

  • Reduced tooling-related downtime
  • Improved mold maintenance practices and tool life tracking
  • Faster, more consistent mold startups
  • Stronger process stability tied to tool health
