We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Cigars to lead and grow a premium cigar program within a well-established, multi-location liquor store chain, known for their comprehensive offerings and F&B programs. The Cigar Manager will work at all locations, which are nearby to each other, as needed. This role blends product expertise, customer engagement, and operational leadership. The ideal candidate is a cigar enthusiast with strong retail instincts who enjoys curating assortments, educating guests, and building a loyal community around a best-in-class humidor experience.
Director of Cigars Responsibilities
- Curate and manage a diverse cigar assortment, including premium, boutique, and limited-release offerings
- Oversee humidor standards, inventory levels, aging, rotation, and compliance with storage requirements
- Train and mentor staff on cigar knowledge, sales techniques, and responsible service
- Maintain and establish vendor relationships; drive sales and execute brand partnerships
Director of Cigars Qualities
- Significant experience managing successful cigar programs
- Deep knowledge of cigar brands, regions, wrappers, and flavor profiles
- Strong retail and merchandising instincts with attention to presentation and detail
- Confident communicator who enjoys educating both staff and customers
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing inventory and vendor relationships
