Traveling General Superintendent | Electrical
Position Overview
The Traveling Electrical General Superintendent is a senior leadership role responsible for managing on-site construction activities for multi-million-dollar hyperscale data center projects across the southeast. This position oversees all electrical field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires extensive travel and deep expertise in large-scale electrical systems typical of mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall site leadership for electrical construction activities on hyperscale data center projects.
- Coordinate and direct field teams, foremen, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient and safe execution of work.
- Develop and manage project schedules, manpower loading, and sequencing in collaboration with project management teams.
- Oversee installation of electrical infrastructure, including medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, grounding, lighting, and raceways.
- Implement and enforce safety programs, quality control procedures, and productivity tracking.
- Interface with general contractor representatives, client stakeholders, engineers, and commissioning agents to align on scope, design intent, and project milestones.
- Lead daily coordination meetings and review progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
- Support preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, and logistics strategy.
- Mentor and develop field supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical construction, with at least 5 years in a superintendent or field leadership role.
- Proven track record managing large-scale, multi-million-dollar data center or mission-critical projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable building codes.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, one-lines, and specifications.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel extensively and adapt to fast-paced project environments.
- OSHA 30, NFPA safety training, and current electrical license (preferred).
