This role requires a hands-on kitchen leader who can drive standards, manage people, and maintain control of food quality, costs, and safety. Head Kitchen Manager Requirements and Qualifications
- 3+ years of back-of-house leadership experience, leading a high volume kitchen staff
- Proven ability to oversee daily kitchen operations, prep systems, line execution, and sanitation standards in a scratch kitchen environment
- Strong experience with scheduling, labor management, food cost control, and inventory
- Solid knowledge of food safety, health department compliance, and cleanliness standards
- Ability to lead, train, and hold kitchen staff accountable
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work the line as needed
Head Kitchen Manager Preferred Background and Skills
- Experience in high-volume casual or Tex-Mex–style restaurant concepts
- Track record of improving kitchen consistency, speed, and food quality
- Strong vendor and ordering management experience
- NRO experience
