Attorney Requirements & Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active member of a state bar association
- Minimum 1 year experience representing clients in a law firm
- Proven ability to manage a heavy caseload with minimal supervision
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Attorney Preferred Background & Skills
- At least 2 years representing clients preferred
- Leadership experience overseeing staff or case managers
- Experience handling personal injury cases
Attorney Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to clients, determining proper courses of action
- Represent clients in court, including motions, discovery, and trial as needed
- Oversee and guide paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff
- Conduct legal research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions
- Manage all aspects of personal injury cases from intake through settlement
- Evaluate case value and strategy based on liability, damages, and insurance coverage
- Review medical records, draft demand letters, and negotiate settlements
- Communicate compassionately and consistently with clients
- Ensure accurate case documentation and uphold firm standards
