Civil Designer (3+ Years Experience)
We are seeking a Civil Designer with 3+ years of experience to join a growing, employee-owned civil engineering firm. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and clients in a supportive, ownership-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare civil engineering plans for land development, municipal, and infrastructure projects
- Develop site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, roadway alignments, and erosion control plans
- Produce plan and profile drawings, details, and construction documents
- Assist with preliminary and final design phases, including exhibits and conceptual layouts
- Perform quantity take-offs and support cost estimates
- Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and constructability
- Revise plans based on internal reviews, client feedback, and permitting agency comments
- Maintain CAD standards and follow established workflows and procedures
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in civil design for site development or infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required)
- Working knowledge of grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal design standards and permitting processes
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, or a related field
- Experience supporting municipal, commercial, or residential land development projects
- Exposure to design-build or public-sector projects
