Catering Sales Manager Requirements & Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Catering Sales Manager in a full-service, luxury hotel with extensive catering business
- Experience in the Chicago market is ideal
- A fearless and motivated seller and closer, with a "go get the business" mindset
- Proven ability to identify prospects, and close deals with strong negotiation skills
- Specific and successful experience driving wedding and social event revenue
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative communication style
- Detail oriented and strategically minded, with a talent for nurturing long-term business partnerships
Catering Sales Manager Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with hotel leadership to identify key business needs and execute targeted sales strategies across Wedding, Social and Corporate segments
- Oversee a portfolio of assigned accounts, develop top clients through customized account development plans, and maximize production from existing relationships
- Identify new business opportunities, research industry trends and target companies for strategic outreach
- Handle inquiries, pricing, proposals, and contracts efficiently; manage all stages of the sales process from RFP to final contract and event planning, ensuring timely follow-ups and high conversion rates
- Prepare and distribute BEOs, coordinate internal communication, and maintain accurate client records and booking activities to ensure seamless execution
