Veterinary Medical Director Requirements
- DVM with a valid California license or the ability to obtain a CA license
- 7+ years of ER/Urgent Care veterinary practice experience and 2+ years of Director-level experience
- 3+ years of Surgical experience required
- Proven success in mentoring and developing veterinarians
- Comfort and expertise in managing emergency care cases
- 2+ years of P&L responsibility
Veterinary Medical Director Responsibilities
- Lead medical strategy and set the standard of quality emergency care in our clinic
- Develop and implement clinic-specific SOPs to ensure consistency and quality
- Partner with leadership to manage budgets and achieve growth targets
- Build and mentor high-performing veterinary teams with a focus on development and resilience
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and client-centered care
- Engage with clients and staff to create a warm, welcoming, and professional environment
- Participate in leadership training and veterinary medical director forums
