Freelance Graphic Designer Requirements
- Must live in the Los Angeles metro area and be available to meet with the marketing team in person for special projects, launches, and creative collaborations. This is primarily a remote role with flexibility for occasional in-person meetings.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Experience using Canva for collaborative design workflows, templates, and quick-turn creative projects.
- Demonstrated experience in photo editing and retouching.
- A strong portfolio showcasing versatility in graphic design, layout, digital content creation, and visual storytelling. Portfolio submission is required with every application.
- Solid understanding of typography, color theory, composition, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to interpret brand guidelines and create polished, consistent, on-brand designs.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Experience with food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, restaurant, retail, or multi-location brands is a plus.
- Experience creating motion graphics, simple animations, and presentation decks is a plus.
Freelance Graphic Designer Responsibilities and Traits
- Create engaging, on-brand visual assets for social media, digital marketing campaigns, in-store signage, presentations, and print materials.
- Edit and retouch photography for use across marketing channels, ensuring high-quality, consistent product imagery.
- Translate creative concepts and marketing briefs into polished final designs within established timelines.
- Develop and maintain Canva templates and shared assets that support efficient collaboration and consistent branding.
- Create, organize, and manage design files using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Prepare production-ready files for both print and digital applications.
- Maintain brand consistency across marketing materials, campaigns, and locations.
- Support seasonal campaigns, product promotions, new-location openings, and ongoing creative initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team, incorporating feedback and contributing ideas to strengthen the brand's visual presence.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and changing project needs in a fast-paced, growing organization.
- Demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative mindset.
- Help develop scalable creative assets and templates that support a growing network of locations.
Additional Details
- Freelance/contract, with the potential to transition into a full-time position as the company grows.
- 60K a year, subject to confirmation of the contract structure and terms.
