Requirements & Qualifications
- Active RN license in Indiana or ability to obtain
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- 5+ years of nursing experience
- Strong Labor & Delivery/Obstetrics background required
- BSN preferred
- Previous leadership, charge, supervisory, or management experience required
Must Haves
- Provide visible leadership across a 24/7 OB operation, including intentional presence with night-shift staff
- Lead approximately 30 team members across Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and nursery services
- Establish consistent communication, expectations, and accountability across shifts
- Partner closely with OB physicians, nursery providers, nursing leadership, and support departments
- Strengthen employee engagement, morale, and team performance
- Remain clinically knowledgeable and comfortable stepping in to support staff when needed
- Oversee staffing, performance management, quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and department operations
- Help staff understand the “why” behind decisions and organizational changes
Preferred Background & Skills
- Current or previous OB/L&D Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Supervisor, or experienced Charge RN
- Strong hands-on Labor & Delivery experience
- Experience leading established or tenured nursing teams
- Maternal/newborn, postpartum, nursery, or perinatal experience
- Experience with performance improvement, patient safety, staffing, budgeting, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborative, steady leadership style with strong communication and relationship-building skills
