Director of Operations – Requirements & Qualifications
- 7+ years of multi-unit restaurant operations experience (Fast-casual or QSR preferred)
- Proven track record of new restaurant openings and franchise support
- Experience building or refining SOPs, training programs, and operational playbooks
- Strong understanding of food cost management, labor optimization, and unit-level profitability
- Ability to travel extensively during franchise launch phase
- – Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with equivalent experience
Director of Operations – Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive review of all FOH and BOH operations to identify gaps preventing scalable replication
- Develop and finalize the operations manual, training materials, SOPs, and systems to serve as the franchise blueprint
- Dial in portioning, cooking methods, COGS controls, and operational details to create a plug-and-play model
- Oversee launch of new franchise and corporate locations, ensuring operational excellence from day one
- Recruit, develop, and deploy a team of traveling trainers to support franchisee locations
- Collaborate with culinary director on menu execution and procurement partners to maintain cost discipline
Director of Operations – Preferred Background & Skills
- Comfortable embedding at a location for weeks to get operations right before moving to the next opening
- Obsessive about documentation, standardization, and replicability — you understand inconsistent SOPs kill brands at scale
- Financially fluent — comfortable managing store-level P&Ls, EBITDA targets, and COGS benchmarks
- Stable track record
