Civil Engineering Project Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline
- Registered Professional Engineer preferred
- Minimum of 8+ years civil engineering experience, including 3+ years in assistant project management
- Expertise in land development engineering for residential and commercial projects
- Solid understanding of municipal codes and regulations
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AES, CIVILD, WSPGW, PCSWMM, StormCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS strongly preferred
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
- Experience with storm drain modeling, hydrologic calculations, and open channel/detention basin design
- Knowledge of HEC-RAS modeling and CLOMR/LOMR processes
- Ability to research zoning, development standards, review processes, and compliance requirements
- Strong technical writing skills for reports, narratives, applications, and correspondence

Civil Engineering Project Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead project development including scope, budgets, bid summaries, and cost estimates
- Manage multiple projects to meet schedule and budget targets
- Prepare and review designs, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports
- Monitor project finances, including costs, billing, and accounts receivable
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships to ensure successful delivery and secure repeat business
- Supervise project personnel to uphold high professional standards
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, design teams, and regulatory agencies
- Assist with marketing initiatives and client presentations
- Provide technical support to resolve design issues and conduct field inspections
- Review contract changes and assess impacts on staffing and budgets
