Superintendent – Public Works Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience; at least 5 years in water treatment plant projects
- 5+ years in construction of water and/or wastewater treatment plants of at least 25 mgd
- 5+ years as a general superintendent on major facility construction
- Experience managing field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and project execution
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience working for a contractor as a superintendent
Superintendent – Public Works Preferred Background & Skills
- Prior work on large-scale, public-sector water infrastructure projects
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with owners, inspectors, and stakeholders
Superintendent – Public Works Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead daily field operations for a major water treatment plant project
- Oversee foremen, craft labor, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to schedule and quality standards
- Collaborate closely with project management on planning, sequencing, and execution
- Ensure full compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Troubleshoot constructability issues and proactively resolve challenges onsite
- Oversee project documentation, field reporting, and coordination with agency representatives
