Restaurant Equipment Technician Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of commercial restaurant equipment repair experience preferred
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
- Familiarity with ovens, fryers, grills, ice machines, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and related equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Capable of lifting equipment/components and working in tight or hot environments
Restaurant Equipment Technician Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair commercial cooking, refrigeration, HVAC, and foodservice equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and detailed inspections to uphold safety standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and refrigeration issues
- Install and commission new restaurant equipment efficiently
- Respond to service calls, minimizing equipment downtime for clients
- Keep accurate service records and communicate effectively with management and customers
- Ensure all work follows OSHA and industry safety requirements while maintaining professional relationships
