We are seeking an experienced Director of Venue Operations to lead the day-to-day operations of a high-profile, guest-focused destination in North Georgia. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an operator who thrives on creating exceptional guest experiences while driving operational performance, developing teams, and partnering directly with ownership.
Director of Venue Operations Benefits and Compensation:
• Base salary: $120,000–$140,000

Director of Venue Operations Requirements & Qualifications:
• 6+ years of progressive leadership and operational management experience preferred
• Proven experience leading a guest-facing operation such as an attraction, hospitality venue, resort, entertainment destination, private club, large event venue, or similar operation
• Strong hands-on leadership style with the ability to remain highly visible throughout the operation
• Experience leading multiple departments and holding department leaders accountable for performance
• Strong financial acumen, including the ability to understand P&L statements, identify unfavorable trends, develop business cases, and improve profitability
• Experience balancing revenue growth, cost management, operational efficiency, and the overall guest experience
• Ability to oversee staffing levels, employee development, training, and seasonal workforce planning
• Experience handling escalated guest and employee situations with professionalism and sound judgment
• Ability to take command during emergencies, safety incidents, severe weather, or other unexpected operational events
• Comfortable working outdoors, walking the property regularly, and navigating rough terrain and inclines
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Must be comfortable with a position requiring year-round, on-site leadership and occasional after-hours/on-call response
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required local alcohol-management permitting
The General Manager will personally inspect the property, verify departments are visitor-ready, monitor safety and cleanliness, address operational deficiencies, oversee incident response, and ensure the property is properly opened and secured each operating day. The role also carries oversight across guest-contact departments and administrative staff.
Director of Venue Operations Preferred Background & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Background managing a large-scale attraction, hospitality destination, resort, entertainment venue, outdoor recreation operation, or other complex guest-facing business
• Experience overseeing retail merchandising, food and beverage, direct sales, marketing, and e-commerce functions
• Strong procurement and vendor-management experience
• Experience developing operational budgets, forecasts, project pro formas, and financial improvement plans
• Knowledge of emergency preparedness, disaster recovery, life-safety procedures, and crisis management
• Experience working directly with owners, founders, or senior executive leadership
• Spanish language skills are a plus
• Strong Microsoft 365 skills with the ability to quickly learn additional operational systems
• Calm, decisive leadership style with the ability to de-escalate difficult situations and make sound decisions under pressure
