Commercial Litigation Paralegal Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial litigation paralegal experience, preferably with a well-regarded New York law firm
- Deep understanding of New York State and Federal court procedures
- Proficiency in NYSCEF and PACER e-filing systems
- Demonstrated experience in managing all phases of litigation, from discovery through trial
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Proven ability to work independently and proactively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Commercial Litigation Paralegal Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience in real estate litigation, business and contract disputes, bankruptcy/restructuring, or financial litigation
Commercial Litigation Paralegal Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in all phases of complex commercial litigation matters
- Prepare, organize, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents in state and federal courts
- Oversee case files, calendars, deadlines, and litigation workflows
- Manage document production, reviews, subpoena processes, and deposition logistics
- Prepare exhibits, deposition binders, hearing materials, and trial notebooks
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third-party vendors
- Assist with legal research and fact investigations as needed
- Provide support during hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
