Nursery School Director – Western Twin Cities, MN
Join a long-established, NAEYC-accredited nursery school in the western Twin Cities area, serving over 170 children from toddler through Pre-K. Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or related field
- 6–10+ years of leadership or director-level experience in early childhood education settings
- Experience supervising teachers and staff
- Strong background in budget management, enrollment oversight, staffing, and daily operations
- Demonstrated success with family communication, conflict resolution, and curriculum leadership
- Experience leading licensed early childhood programs of 150+ children
- Track record of accountability, organization, and high emotional intelligence
Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience maintaining or leading NAEYC accreditation
- Leadership in early childhood programs serving 150–200 children
- Familiarity with process improvement and building operational systems
- Licensing and compliance oversight expertise
- Experience with ProCare or similar childcare management software
- Strong financial and administrative skills
- Humble, collaborative, and coachable leadership style
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of early childhood programming for 170+ students across multiple classrooms
- Support, mentor, and supervise teachers and staff; foster a collaborative and accountable team culture
- Guide operational improvements, systems building, and process consistency
- Serve as the main liaison for parent communication, engagement, and conflict resolution
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including licensing and accreditation standards
- Manage enrollment, budget oversight, and curriculum development efforts
