Project Manager Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you'll oversee every phase of commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Manage projects from entitlement and permitting through construction and final closeout
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and execution plans
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project partners
- Review civil, structural, MEP, and construction plans
- Oversee estimating, budgeting, contract negotiations, and purchasing
- Ensure quality control throughout every phase of construction
- Coordinate permitting, zoning, land disturbance, and regulatory approvals
- Manage project documentation, contracts, permits, and internal communications
- Partner closely with Superintendents and Construction Coordinators to keep projects moving efficiently
- Monitor project costs, construction draws, invoicing, and financial performance
- Anticipate challenges, identify solutions proactively, and keep stakeholders informed
- Maintain clear communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams from project kickoff through completion
Project Manager Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys solving problems, managing multiple priorities, and driving projects to successful completion.
- Minimum 5 years of Construction Project Management experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing subcontractors and vendor relationships
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
- Experience using construction management software-Procore, Bluebeam
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
- Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed (approximately 20%)
