Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive experience as a sous chef
- Recent background in high-volume, upscale, fine, or polished dining
- Proven experience with scratch kitchen operations
- Strong skills in ordering, inventory management, and food & labor cost control
- Calm, solutions-oriented leadership style under pressure
- Professional presence and hands-on approach to kitchen leadership
Sous Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead kitchen operations, ensuring recipe adherence, consistent food quality, and presentation standards
- Manage ordering, inventory systems, and maintain proper pars for smooth operations
- Control food cost, labor cost, and reduce waste to support overall P&L goals
- Uphold strict sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards
- Coach, train, and inspire kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and professional development
- Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless service flow and support a guest-first approach
- Maintain an organized, inspection-ready kitchen environment and model company values daily
