Entertainment Production Sales Director Requirements & Qualifications:
- Minimum 8–12+ years of sales leadership in entertainment, live events, broadcast, film/TV, or technical production
- Proven track record closing high-value production contracts
- Experience building, leading, and mentoring high-performing sales teams
- In-depth understanding of production budgets, cost structure, and profitability drivers
- Advanced negotiation, presentation, and executive communication skills
- Proficiency with CRM and sales forecasting tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Entertainment Management, Communications, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred
- Ability to travel as needed for client and production engagements
Entertainment Production Sales Director Preferred Background & Skills:
- Existing network of entertainment industry clients, agencies, and production partners
- Experience securing national touring contracts, festival residencies, or production packages
- Familiarity with union crew staffing and large-scale live event logistics
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices across touring, AV, and production sales
Entertainment Production Sales Director Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute multi-division sales strategies to meet annual revenue targets
- Lead, coach, and expand a high-performing sales team—setting quotas and monitoring performance
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with artists, promoters, studios, venues, and agencies
- Negotiate and secure contracts for live music tours, film/TV production, AV/technical services, and special events
- Drive business for the new production studio and support growth across service lines
- Manage budgets, oversee operational efficiency, and optimize profit margins in production sales
- Identify and develop new market opportunities and strategic partnerships
