Assistant General Manager – Montreal, QC
A respected hospitality group is seeking an Assistant General Manager to play a key, hands-on leadership role at a busy hotel property. Assistant General Manager Benefits & Compensation
- Base salary: $65,000–$75,000 (CAD)
- $50/month phone allowance
- Health insurance (50% employer-paid)

Assistant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English
- Prior experience as an Assistant General Manager or Front Office Manager in a hotel environment
- Strong hands-on expertise supporting Front Desk operations
- Proven leadership with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high service standards
- Professional communication, discretion, and sound judgment
- Flexibility to work weekends or shifts based on operational needs
- Proficiency with hotel systems and booking platforms
Assistant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience with property management systems and operational software (e.g., Medallia, Guest Relations, Expedia, Booking.com)
- Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and team development
Assistant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Maintain an active, visible presence on the floor, supporting teams throughout daily operations
- Deliver and model prompt, professional guest service, handling special requests and concerns as needed
- Supervise, coach, and motivate Front Desk staff to achieve service excellence
- Oversee reservations, billing, guest communications, loyalty programs, and guest satisfaction tools
- Ensure compliance with brand policies, procedures, and quality service standards
- Prepare work schedules, respond to employee needs, and support staffing requirements
- Liaise professionally with outside housekeeping and maintenance vendors
- Monitor inventory for guest areas, ensuring supplies are stocked and presentable
