A precision manufacturer is seeking a CMM Operator to support second shift inspection and verification of tight tolerance machined components. This role runs established CMM programs, documents results, and partners with Quality and Production to protect traceability and customer requirements in a high mix environment.
CMM Operator, Second Shift What You Will Do
- Set up parts and fixtures, select probes, and run established CMM programs to verify product to print
- Interpret drawings and engineering changes, including GD and T and datum structures
- Generate and review inspection reports, including AS9102 first article documentation when required
- Support first piece and in process inspection to keep production moving while protecting quality
- Document and segregate nonconforming material and escalate issues promptly
- Perform routine CMM maintenance checks and keep the inspection area organized
CMM Operator, Second Shift What You Will Bring
- Experience operating a CMM in a manufacturing environment
- Strong blueprint reading skills and comfort with datums and tolerances
- Working knowledge of precision measurement tools and inspection technique
- Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry
- Comfort working independently on second shift
- Exposure to common CMM software such as PC DMIS or Calypso preferred
