A well-established healthcare and senior living organization is seeking a Dietary Director / Registered Dietitian to oversee dietary operations, clinical nutrition services, and food service management within a long-term care environment. Responsibilities
- Oversee all dietary department operations including staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management
- Manage food ordering, inventory, budgeting, and supply levels
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility dietary regulations and standards
- Oversee menu planning, therapeutic diets, and nutritional assessments
- Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and resident reviews
- Monitor meal preparation, tray line operations, food quality, and sanitation practices
- Complete dietary documentation including MDS, assessments, progress notes, and care plans
- Conduct kitchen sanitation rounds and support survey readiness and plans of correction
- Collaborate with residents, families, nursing staff, and department leadership to ensure nutritional needs are met
- Lead department initiatives focused on quality improvement, safety, and resident satisfaction
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited program
- Licensed or certified Dietitian in the State of Michigan OR Registered Dietitian credential required
- Minimum 3 years of related dietary or clinical nutrition experience preferred
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, therapeutic diets, and food service operations
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and customer service mindset
