Accounts Payable Specialist Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience using Sage 100 Contractor
- At least 3 years of accounts payable experience in the construction industry
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or AA/AS considered
- Strong math and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of job costing and lien release concepts
- Proficiency with electronic file management
Accounts Payable Specialist Preferred Background & Skills
- Exceptional work ethic with a sense of urgency
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with transitioning from paper to electronic processes (Sage)
Accounts Payable Specialist Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Process approved invoices, subcontracts, purchase orders, and budgets
- Maintain and update vendor files
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices
- Reconcile accounts, job costs, and process necessary accounting entries
- Maintain certificates of insurance for subcontractors
- Cross-train with payroll team and provide payroll support when needed
- Request lien releases in accordance with contracts
- Organize and file accounts payable documents, primarily electronically
- Run accounting reports and complete other assigned responsibilities
