Design Engineer, Mechanical – EV Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- 5 years of engineering experience, including 2 years focused on EV powertrain integration
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar engineering tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical communication, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required
Design Engineer, Mechanical – EV Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and refine detailed design models and technical drawings
- Produce documentation to define mechanical system and component specifications
- Apply FMVSS, state, and customer requirements to all design decisions
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive technical feedback
- Troubleshoot and resolve design and performance issues in partnership with the team
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and product teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
- Stay up to date with the latest EV technology trends, materials, and manufacturing processes
