We are seeking a Director of Finance to lead the financial operations of a hotel in the Virginia/DC area. This individual will play a critical role in driving strategic business objectives, partnering closely with the General Manager and ownership to ensure strong financial performance, operational efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic financial leadership and direction for the property
- Oversee all accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger
- Ensure accurate and timely ADP payroll processing and compliance
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead profit and loss analysis, identifying trends and opportunities to improve performance
- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts in partnership with department leaders
- Ensure full compliance with tax reporting, audits, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial policies
- Partner with operational leaders to drive cost controls and maximize profitability
- Communicate financial performance clearly to senior leadership and ownership
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of hotel operations and financial systems
- Proven experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis
- Ability to influence and collaborate across departments
- Prior experience in a luxury or full-service hotel environment
