Beverage Director Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong leadership experience in a high-level, fine dining restaurant environment
- Exceptional knowledge of wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverage programs
- Proven ability to build systems, not just execute service
- Experience managing beverage cost, inventory, and program profitability
- Excellent communication skills and strong professional judgment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Experience training and developing front-of-house teams
- Familiarity with POS systems and reservation platforms such as Tock and Resy
- Understanding of NYC and NY State compliance and regulations (Food Protection Certification required)
- Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Beverage Director Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience leading a beverage program in a Michelin-rated or tasting menu environment
- Strong ability to curate and evolve dynamic, seasonal beverage offerings
- Passion for hospitality-driven guest experiences and storytelling through beverage
- Experience collaborating closely with culinary teams on pairings
- Track record of maintaining high standards, consistency, and service excellence
- Strong organizational and operational skills across inventory and systems
- Experience leading tastings, education programs, and team development initiatives
- Ability to contribute to broader programming, events, and collaborations
- Commitment to fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning
