Store Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- 3+ years of retail management or multi-department supervisory experience
- Strong background in sales leadership, customer service, and team management
- Experience managing payroll, budgets, and controllable expenses
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flex schedules as business demands require
Must Haves
- Lead day-to-day operations including opening/closing, cash handling, reconciliations, and bank deposits
- Oversee scheduling, hiring, onboarding, coaching, reviews, and team meetings
- Manage merchandising, product ordering, inventory accuracy, and in-store presentation standards
- Build community partnerships and execute events that drive traffic, loyalty, and brand awareness
Store Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience leading teams in pet retail, wellness, service, grooming, or specialty retail environments
- Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to motivate and inspire diverse teams
- Comfortable analyzing reports, KPIs, and store performance metrics to drive improvement
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
