A growing recycling and logistics operation is seeking a hands-on Transportation & Logistics Manager to lead daily dispatch, manage drivers, and scale the trucking function.
This is not a desk-only role—this person will be actively involved in day-to-day dispatch while building the structure and team for future growth.
Responsibilites
- Run daily dispatch for roll-off, dump, and live-load trucks
- Manage and hold drivers accountable for safety, performance, and professionalism
- Oversee fleet performance, maintenance coordination, and DOT compliance
- Act as the primary logistics contact for customers, ensuring on-time service
- Make real-time routing and scheduling decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Track KPIs (utilization, on-time service, deadhead, cost per load) to drive performance
- Build and develop dispatch processes and team as the operation scales
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on dispatch experience with roll-off trucks (required)
- Experience in high-volume trucking, recycling, or similar environments
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop drivers
- Deep understanding of routing, scheduling, and real-time dispatch
- Working knowledge of DOT compliance and safety standards
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Hands-on, no-excuses approach—willing to step in and execute
