This is a hands-on role for machinists who enjoy dialing in complex lathe work and taking ownership of their setups. You’ll work with advanced CNC lathe equipment, including twin turret and twin spindle machines, in a clean, safety-driven precision shop.
CNC Lathe Set-Up Machinist Benefits and Compensation:
- $24–$32 per hour, based on experience
- $2/hour shift differential
- 2nd Shift: 2:45 PM – 12:45 AM
- Four 10-hour shifts, Monday–Thursday

CNC Lathe Set-Up Machinist Requirements & Qualifications:
- 4+ years of CNC machining experience with a strong focus on lathe set-ups
- Experience setting up and running CNC lathes, including twin turret or twin spindle configurations
- Ability to independently prove out programs and make necessary edits
- Solid understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T
- Strong working knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, and speeds
- Valid driver’s license
Must Haves:
- Complete machine set-ups and changeovers on CNC lathes
- Troubleshoot tooling, offsets, and program issues
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools and CMMs
- Document production, scrap, and ERP entries accurately
- Maintain machine condition, coolant levels, and tool integrity
Preferred Background & Skills:
- Multi-axis lathe experience in a precision environment
- Familiarity with JobBOSS or similar ERP systems
- Medical device or aerospace machining experience
- Process-improvement mindset and strong attention to detail
- Interest in mentoring or supporting less experienced machinists
