Assistant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications
This is what will be prioritized during screening
Must Haves:
- 2+ years of management experience in a full-service or fast-casual restaurant
- Proven ability to lead teams during high-volume shifts
- Strong floor presence with a guest-first mindset
- Experience coaching, developing, and holding teams accountable
- Working knowledge of labor control, food cost, and daily execution
- Ability to confidently run the operation when the General Manager is not on site
- Comfortable working shoulder to shoulder with the team during peak periods
Day-to-Day Focus:
- Lead shifts, set the pace, and maintain consistent execution
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing team development
- Ensure food quality, speed of service, and guest experience standards are met
- Assist with scheduling, inventory, and daily financial oversight
- Reinforce standards while keeping morale and engagement high
Assistant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a scratch or fresh-ingredient kitchen environment
- Exposure to new store openings or operational turnarounds
- Strong communication skills across both front- and back-of-house teams
- Long-term interest in growing into a General Manager role
