What You’ll Do
- Work closely with an assigned Houston-based trial team on complex civil litigation
- Develop cases from intake through trial or settlement
- Learn and apply procedural rules and substantive law across varied jurisdictions
- Take and defend fact and expert depositions
- Draft and argue motions, briefs, and affirmative motions
- Prepare and draft complex demand packages
- Attend trial as needed (typically 2–4 trials per year; travel required)
- Communicate regularly with clients, experts, and co-counsel
Qualifications
- Active member in good standing of any U.S. state bar
- 3+ years of post-J.D. civil litigation experience
- or 1 year of judicial clerkship experience
- Plaintiff-side personal injury experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage cases from start to finish
- Strong legal research and writing skills (motions, briefs, responses)
- Excellent oral communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative trial team
