Plant Controller Requirements & Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance required
- Solid understanding of financial and operating aspects of manufacturing
- Proven experience implementing systems, processes, and controls
- Strong cost accounting and budgeting expertise
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
- Experience with NetSuite and QuickBooks preferred
- Ability to work on-site in New York with limited travel
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience in food manufacturing or with private equity-backed businesses is a plus
Plant Controller Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience working with private equity portfolio companies
- Background in food manufacturing environments
Plant Controller Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Partner with operations and corporate finance to implement and manage standard costing, including all SKU costings and efficiency analyses
- Lead implementation and continuity of inventory systems, processes, and controls
- Analyze plant labor, operational spending, and inventory balances to achieve optimal production levels
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly plant performance reports
- Oversee the accounting close process (month-end, quarter-end, year-end) to meet deadlines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver timely reporting of financial metrics, flash reports, and budget vs. actual analytics
- Play a key role in NetSuite Financials system implementation, including data migration, testing, and ongoing administration
- Supervise accounts receivable and payable, and maintain accurate inventory records and reconciliations
- Support the preparation of GAAP financial statements and enforce technical accounting policies and procedures
