Service Technician (Pools)

About the Role
As a Service Technician (Pools), you will support the maintenance and upkeep of residential and commercial swimming pools. You’ll perform routine cleaning, water testing, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure pools remain safe, functional, and enjoyable for customers year-round.
This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who is eager to expand their technical skills through training, mentorship, and real-world experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Vacuum pool debris, skim surfaces, and brush pool walls and tiles to remove dirt and algae.
- Test and balance pool water chemistry, including pH, chlorine levels, and Langelier Saturation Index (LSI).
- Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, filters, heaters, and related equipment.
- Complete minor equipment repairs, including replacing filters, gaskets, O-rings, addressing small leaks, tightening components, and lubricating moving parts.
- Maintain accurate records for commercial pools, including chemical logs, time sheets, and supply usage.
- Identify required parts and submit clear, detailed parts requests to the office.
- Assist with emergency repair situations as needed.
- Perform pool start-ups and winterizations, following best practices to prevent freeze damage across all pool systems.
- Apply safe methods for draining and cleaning pools to avoid structural damage or pool popping.
- Identify and report safety code compliance issues to homeowners and the office.
- Complete work orders thoroughly, including service details, before-and-after photos, and chemical readings.
- Keep service vehicles organized, stocked, and job-ready.
- Follow and actively promote all safety procedures and jobsite standards.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
(Training provided)
- Experience with plumbing and electrical work is preferred.
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge (or willingness to learn) of:
- Pool water circulation systems
- Pool equipment operation and maintenance
- Pool chemicals and safe chemical handling
- Comfortable interacting with customers in a professional, courteous manner.
- Dependable, adaptable, and able to manage changing daily demands.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and complete assigned tasks.
- Motivated to grow into a Service Technician role over time.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and grasp.
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. regularly, with occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
