Restaurant General Manager Requirements and Qualifications
- Strong, stable work history in a high-volume casual dining or production-style kitchen environment
- Proven leadership background with experience overseeing diverse restaurant teams
- Excellent communication, coaching, and operational skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and retain high-performing teams
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening
Restaurant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across Front and Back of House
- Ensure food quality, safety, sanitation, and service standards are met
- Manage budgets, labor, and full P&L accountability
- Recruit, train, and develop team members for long-term success
- Foster a positive culture built on hospitality, teamwork, and accountability
Restaurant General Manager Preferred Skills
- Background in high-volume or production-style restaurant operations
- Strong understanding of inventory, cost control, and labor management
- Ability to drive guest satisfaction through genuine hospitality and team engagement
- Proven history of improving operations and achieving performance goals
- Comfortable using POS and back-office systems for scheduling and reporting
- Skilled at fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork
