Junior Estimator Trainee – Demolition & Excavation
A well-established demolition and excavation contractor with decades of regional experience is seeking a motivated individual who wants to learn the estimating side of the business. This position is ideal for someone with drive, curiosity, and commitment — someone who’s ready to be mentored and grow into a full Estimator role over time
Responsibilities
- Shadow senior estimators to learn how to read drawings, review specs, and prepare bids
- Assist with takeoffs, pricing, and bid documentation
- Gather and organize subcontractor and vendor quotes
- Participate in site visits to understand how demolition and excavation work translate into costs
- Learn how materials, labor, and equipment affect overall project budgets
- Support a collaborative, safety-focused team while developing hands-on industry knowledge
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and genuine curiosity about construction, demolition, and heavy equipment
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
- Willingness to listen, take feedback, and ask questions
- Ability to stay organized and focused under deadlines
- Positive attitude and respect for coworkers, clients, and partners

- Humility to start at the ground level and ambition to grow
Training & Mentorship
- One-on-one mentorship with seasoned estimators and project managers
- Real project exposure from bid through completion
- Combination of field and office learning
- Clear growth path toward Assistant Estimator and Estimator position
