Requirements & Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- 4–6 years of experience at a top national law firm
- Background in cybersecurity, privacy, regulatory defense, or complex litigation
- Strong technical acumen or interest in information security, data governance, or AI technologies
- Admission to practice in Texas (or eligibility for waiver)
- Excellent writing, research, and client communication skills
Must Haves
- Advise clients during cybersecurity incidents, including forensic coordination, containment, notification, and regulator engagement
- Represent clients in enforcement actions by the FTC, SEC, DOJ, HHS OCR, and state Attorneys General
- Counsel on compliance with state, federal, and international cybersecurity/privacy laws
- Lead tabletop exercises and crisis management simulations
- Develop and test incident response plans aligned with NIST, ISO, and CIS standards
- Draft and negotiate cybersecurity vendor and data protection agreements
Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience coordinating cyber incident response and working with forensic teams
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
- Exposure to AI, data governance, or digital transformation risk
