Senior Restoration Engineer
Location: REMOTE based in Southeastern United States preferred | Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Starting in the low $100s annually, based on experience
Join an environmental nonprofit dedicated to land conservation, habitat management, and mitigation banking. The Lead Water Resources Engineer will oversee the design and execution of stream and wetland restoration projects, working collaboratively with clients, regulatory agencies, and a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implementation: Create detailed plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents for restoration projects.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather geomorphic, ecological, and hydrologic field data to support project designs.
- Hydraulic Modeling: Perform modeling to aid in permitting and compliance processes.
- Project Oversight: Manage construction inspections and ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; graduate degree preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in river, stream, wetland, or floodplain restoration; familiarity with Rosgen’s Natural Channel Design preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), preferably in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, or Tennessee.
- Expertise in hydraulic modeling (Hec-RAS) and AutoCAD, with a proven record of managing large-scale environmental projects.
- Experience with stamping mitigation projects required
