Assistant General Manager Qualifications:
- 4+ years of progressive restaurant management experience
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and steady leadership under pressure
- Flexible leadership style with proven success managing diverse teams
- ServSafe certified (and other required food safety certifications)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with technology, including POS systems and restaurant software
- Able to handle kitchen tools safely and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
Assistant General Manager Preferred Skills:
- Set clear expectations with the team and plan for contingencies such as staffing shortages or equipment issues
- Ensure all food items meet quality standards; monitor guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly
- Place accurate orders, check product quality, and manage inventory effectively
- Run payroll accurately and follow all payroll protocols
- Create labor-efficient schedules and post in a timely manner to support team planning
- Lead by example, modeling company values and leadership behaviors
- Oversee onboarding and training, ensuring new hires meet role expectations
- Drive staffing efforts, make strong hiring decisions, and provide consistent coaching and progressive discipline as needed
