About the Opportunity: A prestigious New York law firm specializing in multi-million dollar commercial real estate transactions is seeking a seasoned Legal Assistant with 7+ years of experience to join their team. This role supports attorneys handling complex deals involving office towers, retail centers, industrial properties, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and manage legal documents including purchase agreements, leases, financing instruments, and closing binders
- Lead coordination of due diligence: title and survey review, zoning compliance, and environmental reports
- Serve as a primary liaison with clients, brokers, lenders, and title companies to ensure seamless closings
- Maintain transaction timelines, manage calendars, and oversee document checklists
- File legal documents with relevant agencies and courts
- Provide high-level administrative support including scheduling, billing, and correspondence
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in commercial real estate law
- Deep understanding of New York real estate practices, closing procedures, and title documentation
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-stakes transactions independently
- Exceptional attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software platforms
Preferred Experience:
- Multi-property or multi-jurisdictional transactions
- Commercial leasing and financing structures
- Experience supporting senior partners or managing junior staff
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $80,000 to $100,000, based on experience
- Overtime paid at time-and-a-half for hours worked beyond 35 per week
