Join our team as an experienced Tax Attorney Partner specializing in Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience advising clients on complex benefit structures, including defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, 401(k) plans, and profit-sharing plans. Our firm offers a collaborative environment where you'll work closely with partners on innovative and challenging cases.
Tax Attorney Responsibilities:
- Provide expert counsel on executive compensation and employee benefit matters, including designing, implementing, and maintaining retirement and compensation plans.
- Advise clients on compliance with ERISA, Internal Revenue Code regulations, and other relevant laws governing employee benefits.
- Handle complex matters related to defined benefit and contribution plans, 401(k) plans, profit-sharing plans, deferred compensation, and stock options.
- Collaborate with partners and senior associates to deliver strategic tax advice to clients.
- Draft and review legal documents, including plan amendments and agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Advise corporate clients on compensation and benefits issues in mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, managing a portable book of business.
- Ensure all filings, submissions, and reporting obligations are completed on time.
Tax Attorney Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in executive compensation, employee benefits, and tax law, particularly with ERISA-governed benefit plans.
- Strong knowledge of retirement plan structures, including defined benefit, defined contribution, 401(k), and profit-sharing plans.
- Exceptional drafting, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
- Portable book of business and excellent client relationship management.
- Florida Bar membership
