Resort Director of Engineering
Relocate to Lake Geneva, WI
Are you ready to bring your expertise to one of the Midwest’s premier resort destinations? This AAA Four Diamond, 1,300-acre resort—recognized as a Top Resort in the Midwest by Condé Nast Traveler—is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead its Engineering team.
In this role, you’ll ensure the property remains in peak condition—overseeing daily repairs, preventative maintenance, and long-term projects across 746 guest rooms, a luxury spa and salon, two championship golf courses, a ski hill, multiple dining venues, and more. You’ll guide a skilled team, ensure compliance and safety standards, and continually improve operations to create the seamless guest experiences that set this resort apart.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and develop a team of engineers, painters, carpenters, and administrative staff
- Oversee daily operations, scheduling, payroll, and performance management
- Maintain facilities, infrastructure, and equipment—including HVAC, pools, kitchens, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Manage capital projects, preventative maintenance programs, and the Waste Water Treatment Plant
- Collaborate with resort leadership to ensure exceptional service and minimal downtime
- Build strong communication with guests, contractors, vendors, and executives
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven leadership in facilities, maintenance, or engineering management within a resort, hotel, or similar environment
- Strong technical knowledge across building systems, equipment, and life safety standards (OSHA, MSDS, LockOut/TagOut, etc.)
- Ability to interpret blueprints, budgets, and procedural manuals
- Skilled in troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance strategies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Birchstreet, HotSOS, and building management systems (Metasys BMS a plus)
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
