Swiss Lathe Set-Up Machinist – 2nd Shift

Swiss Lathe Set-Up Machinist Benefits and Compensation:
- Pay range: $24–$28 per hour, plus $2/hour shift differential
- Four-day workweek (Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts)
- 2nd shift schedule: 2:45 PM – 12:45 AM

Swiss Lathe Set-Up Machinist Requirements & Qualifications:
- 5+ years CNC machinist experience, with strong Swiss lathe set-up expertise
- Proven ability to set up, prove out, edit, and operate Swiss-style CNC lathes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications
- Skilled at adjusting feeds, speeds, and tooling to optimize machining conditions
- Strong understanding of cutting tool applications and designations
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
Must Haves (Day-to-Day Responsibilities):
- Perform complete set-ups and changeovers on Swiss lathes
- Edit and troubleshoot G-code programs as required
- Verify part dimensions using inspection tools, CMM, and optical equipment
- Accurately document part counts, scrap, and ERP entries
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Perform basic machine maintenance, including fluid checks and tool condition monitoring
Swiss Lathe Set-Up Machinist Preferred Background & Skills:
- Prior experience with complex Swiss lathe machining
- Familiarity with JobBOSS or other ERP systems
- Experience in medical device or aerospace machining
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to mentor less experienced machinists
