Our client seeks a seasoned, and creative Sushi Sous Chef for the end of year opening with their growing restaurant group. We are looking for a sushi sous chef who can bring a unique flare to our new restaurant-specializing in sexy hand rolls and sake, yet collaborate effectively with the Group Chef on culinary direction.
The company operates six locations across five concepts – all Japanese inspired so far,
With 120 employees across all locations, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Sous Chef to impact on the premier dining experiences in Cambodia.
Sushi Sous Chef Benefits and Compensation:
· Cambodian taxes paid by company – salary is net of local taxes
· Work and accident insurance provided
· Housing stipend up to $500 monthly sufficient for a one-bedroom in a good location
· Annual flights plus expatriation and repatriation flights to/from Cambodia
· Tips plus 5% service charge split with team members
· Company-provided visas
· Growth potential – leading in a new handroll and sake concept opening
Sushi Sous Chef Qualifications:
· Minimum 4 years of experience as a sushi or omakase chef
· Expertise in specifically sushi techniques and style
· Proven supervisory or leadership in a high-end restaurant environment
· Excellent knowledge of seafood sourcing and preparation
· Ability to manage a small, high-performance kitchen team
· Conversational in English and Japanese required
Sushi Sous Chef Preferred Background:
· Previous experience in upscale casual to elevated lifestyle Sushi restaurants
· Familiarity with Cambodian or Southeast Asian culinary markets
· Training in traditional Japanese knife skills and techniques including Edomae styles
· Experience designing seasonal sushi menus
· Strong interpersonal skills for guest interaction- disciplined and collaborative
· Passion for mentoring junior chefs and cooks
