Overview
A growing professional services firm is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This Senior Accountant will play a key part in supporting daily accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting across multiple entities. The ideal Senior Accountant candidate is organized, collaborative, and skilled in managing both routine tasks and ad hoc projects, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Controller with day-to-day accounting functions.
- Reconcile corporate credit card activity to receipts on a monthly basis.
- Manage the Accounts Payable process, including invoice entry, vendor setup, W-9 collection, and check preparation across multiple entities.
- Maintain sub-ledgers for billing and verify vendor Certificates of Insurance for compliance.
- Prepare journal entries and support month-end closing activities.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and review the general ledger for accuracy.
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
- Assist with weekly payroll processing.
- Prepare project-related time analysis reports as needed.
- Maintain and manage the fixed asset ledger.
- Support special projects, reporting, and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred).
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP a plus.
- Proven ability to quickly learn new accounting systems.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
