Overview
A growing real estate investment and property management firm is hiring a Property Accountant to support its expanding portfolio of residential and hotel properties. This role plays a key part in the accounting department, supporting financial reporting, property-level performance tracking, and collaboration with both internal and third-party stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Complete month-end close activities and perform variance analysis
- Review and monitor property income and expenses for accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with property managers, project managers, and investment teams to ensure accurate financial data
- Prepare annual property budgets and upload into the accounting system
- Submit construction draws to banks and equity partners
- Maintain accounting files, records, and internal reporting tools
- Conduct reconciliations, prepare reserve draw requests, and support quarterly financial notes and forecasts
- Assist with special accounting projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management
- Experience with Yardi accounting software preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reporting)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $70,000 to $75,000, based on experience
- Annual bonus: Up to 10%, based on company and personal performance
